By day I fix spines. By night I break hearts.
Dr. F is a chiropractor and fiction writer who lives in both worlds without apology. She writes fantasy, romance, drama, and romantasy: stories about how people change when life tightens around them, built on longing, magic, and the kind of emotional realism that makes you feel it in your own chest. She's currently building her author world from scratch, and you can follow the whole journey on Instagram at @dr.f.writes.

Writing stories that completely unravel you.
My name is Dr. F. In one life, I'm Dr. Kim Fletcher — chiropractor, diagnostician, the person you trust with your body when something's off. In the other, I'm a fiction writer who disappears into worlds that don't exist yet and comes back with stories I can't stop telling.
I didn't choose between those two lives. I decided I didn't have to.
Owning a practice is a lot. There's a particular kind of overwhelm that builds up quietly — patient after patient, decision after decision — until you realize you need somewhere to put it. For me, that place was fiction. I started writing again to escape. What I didn't expect was that I'd find something I couldn't stop.
What I Write
Philosophy
Under Pressure
I write fantasy fiction, romance, drama, and romantasy — stories where the magic is real and so is the desire, where characters earn what they feel, and where the ending hits you somewhere specific. What I keep coming back to is how relationships change when the pressure rises — when circumstances tighten and people have to figure out who they actually are to each other. That's the question underneath almost everything I write.
Voice & Values
True Over Safe
I write the stories I want to read: tension that builds until it snaps, characters who are complicated and worth caring about, and worlds with rules — and people who break them. I'm not interested in safe. I'm interested in true. What I'm really after is emotional realism — the kind of feeling you've lived before, in your own life, with your own people. Recognition of a feeling.
Body & Story
Physical History
As a chiropractor, I spend a lot of time thinking about what the body holds — stress, grief, desire, history. You'd be surprised how much of that shows up on the page. This author world is new, and I'm building it in public. Follow along on Instagram at @dr.f.writes — that's where I post behind-the-scenes and everything that doesn't fit neatly into a book yet. The journey is just starting.
